Cancer is a serious condition where cells start having abnormal growth. This endless growth needs to be checked else it can cause death of the patient. The most common cancer worldwide is lung cancer. 61 percent of all Americans are overweight or obese. Most Americans are aware of the better known health risks associated with weight gain, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The results of a recent survey by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) show that only about one in four individuals knew that obesity was also a cancer risk.
There are certain food choices that lead us to obesity. These foods also increase the risk of many diseases such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. It has been found that daily level of activity also determines the overall health and may prevent various forms of cancer.
It has been studied that people who exercise regularly are at decreased causes of prostate cancer. If right kind of food choices are made which exclude saturated fat from the diet and include more and more fruits, vegetables and fiber, the chances of becoming obese are very less. This in turn reduces you chances of having certain types of cancerous conditions.
Obesity can increase the likelihood of developing the following cancers by almost 30 percent:
- Breast
- Colon
- Endometrial
- Esophageal
- Prostate
- Kidney
- Lung
As per a recent study, in both genders, there were associations between increased BMI and leukemia, multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. If you want to avoid cancer, slim down and take regular exercise. Never skip breakfast and make wise food choices.
While a number of foods carry a cancer risk, most of them can be eaten in small amounts without noticeably endangering health. However, for salted or cured meats there is no clear safe dose.
